Cape Henlopen School District

The Cape Henlopen School District prepares each student for a healthy, creative, and rewarding life in a diverse and global society by creating an educational environment which enables each student to achieve personal excellence and lifelong learning skills to become a productive and responsible citizen.
With schools in and near Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Milton, the Cape Henlopen School District has an enrollment of about 4,900 students. This district is the second-largest geographically in the state, covering an area from just below Milford to the Indian River Inlet. Cape is widely recognized for outstanding academic, arts and athletic programs, and is home to the Sussex Consortium, a nationally recognized countywide program for children with autism.

Indian River School District

The Indian River School District, located in Southeastern Sussex County, is one of the largest school districts in the State of Delaware. Formed in 1969 by the consolidation of several smaller districts, the Indian River School District serves the towns of Selbyville, Frankford, Dagsboro, Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Millville, Clarksville, Gumboro, Millsboro and Georgetown.

Sussex Tech School District

Sussex Tech is a dynamic “one-stop educational shopping” experience. Each day, Sussex Technical High School provides unparalleled academic and technical secondary education to over 1,400 full-time students throughout Sussex County. With numerous awards and accolades including recognition by the State of Delaware and the United States Department of Education as the only two-time Blue Ribbon Awarded High School in the State of Delaware and recognition by the United States Office of Education as a National School of Excellence, Sussex Tech aggressively remains on the cutting edge of educational instructional reform through the successful implementation of block scheduling, integrated learning strategies, senior mastery projects, and other progressive practices.
West of Georgetown, the Sussex Technical School District operates Sussex County’s only full-time comprehensive technical high school. The district partnered with Widener University to bring new higher education course offerings to high school students in Sussex and central Delaware. Students have the opportunity to enroll in and complete college courses during their junior and senior years of high school. Upon successful completion, students will be awarded Sussex Technical High School and Widener University credits.

Milford School District

The Milford School District administration office is in Milford, at the intersection of Del. 1 and U.S. 113. Enrollment is almost 4,200 students. With schools in the towns of Milford and Lincoln, this district has served Milford, Ellendale, Slaughter Beach, Lincoln and Houston.

Laurel School District

The Laurel School District administration office is in Laurel, on the western side of the county, along the U.S. 13 corridor. This district historically has served the residents of Laurel and Bethel and enrolls about 2,000 students.

With schools in Seaford and Blades, enrollment for the Seaford School District is about 3,500. The Seaford School District administration office is in Seaford on North Market Street.

Woodbridge School District

The Woodbridge School District, home of the Blue Raiders, with schools in Greenwood and Bridgeville, enrolls almost 2,300 students. Historically, the Woodbridge district has served the residents of Bridgeville and Greenwood in Sussex County and Farmington in Kent County.
